Beans and Legumes, Easy, Recipes, Side Dishes
I’m still working out this recipe, but I’m including it anyway because I want to save the current status and ingredients list. There’s a fair number of variations on succotash and I’m taste-testing my way around, to find out what works for both A) I love it and B) I happen to have ingredients on hand. Lima beans always, because I love lima beans.
Breakfast, Instant Pot, Recipes
This makes a double batch of the easiest and oh-so-tasty reheat-able little omelets. You will need two silicon egg bite molds and a steamer rack with a handle. Quantities are inexact, as I eyeballed volumes.
Edible Landscaping, Foundation Plantings, Gardening
I rearranged the garden this weekend. Dug out the French sorrel and moved it to the backyard near the fence. Moved the Rhubarb to the front bed. Cleared out two yard-waste bags full of brambles. (I don’t compost thorny things, lol).
Then I planted shrubs and trees. Lots of shrubs and trees. Two cherry plum trees in the front yard. (They are a kind of plum, got the trees as a freebie with my purchase of the other shrubs). Also planted two bayberry bushes, two American Highbush Cranberry bushes, a sand cherry, and a sassafras tree. Still waiting to go into the ground are two nanking cherry bushes, two serviceberry bushes, and two dwarf mulberries. This does not include the trees and bushes that haven’t been delivered yet.
Edible Landscaping, Trees and Shrubs
This is the collection of new trees and shrubs I’m adding to the landscape in 2019. All but the bayberries produce edible fruit and provide food and habitat for birds.
Most are being planted on 4/7/2019, due to beautiful weather.
